Govt. to raise wage eligibility limit for Bonus

• Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya announced that the Centre has decided to raise the wage eligibility limit to 21,000 per month as against Rs 10,000 or below at present under the Payment of Bonus Act.
• In addition to that, the minimum amount of bonus to be paid would be raised from the existing 3,500 to Rs. 7,000 per month.
• As per the sources, these were prepared two months ago and were supposed to be introduced in the last session of Parliament.
