- Union Cabinet banned Naga militant group NSCN-K, for five years that has been involved in a series of attacks, including the killing of 18 soldiers of the Army inManipur in June.
- The decision has been taken at a meeting by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- NSCN-K terror group, headed by S S Khaplang banned under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA)
