As per RBI Kolkata headquartered UCO Bank named as the worst performer in public sector banks with highest number of non-performing assets (NPAs) recorded against it with gross advances ratio raised to 8.05% from 4.47% followed by Indian Overseas Bank and Bank of Maharashtra
OTHER BAD PERFORMER PSBs DURING 2014-15
- Chennai headquartered Indian Overseas Bank(IOB) with 8.30% from 3.46%
- Pune headquartered Bank of Maharashtra(BoM) with 6.18% from 3.02%
- Mumbai headquartered Dena Bankincreased to 5.29% from 3.33 per cent
- Mangalore headquartered Corporation Bank’srose from 3.42% to 4.80%
Increase in NPA affected the base of the banks and they are provided with Rs 25,000 capital support by government in this fiscal.
