Australia launches Sky Muster – A communication satellite

Australia launches its communications satellite named “Sky Muster (NBN-Co 1A)”on Ariane 5ECA rocket from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana which is aimed to provide high speed internet facilities to Australian Nation. It is operated by National Broadband Network (NBN) which will cover the isolated areas also.
NICKNAMED – “great hope” which signals to Australia’s broadband network
  • It’s one of the world’s largest communication satellites and it will be used to as means to provide broadband facilities to Australia by connecting nearly 400000 homes.
  • Along with Sky Muster Argentina’s ARSAT – 2 is also launched.
Sky Muster’s working will check by number of tests and is expecting to provide services by 2016.
