India and Mozambique inked agreement for technical bilateral cooperation and investment promotion in the area of new and renewable energy has been approved by the Union Cabinet.
MoU was signed during the Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi to India in August and it was inked between the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Mozambique’s Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy.

India has set a target of 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022, which includes 100 GW of solar power, 60 GW of wind power, 10 GW of biomass-fired power and 5 GW of small hydro power.
