Former Gujarat Governor RK Trivedi died here this afternoon after prolonged illness.
He was 94.
About RK Trivedi:
- Trivedi, who also served as the Chief Election Commissioner, had a long and distinguished career as a
- He had joined civil services in 1943 and after serving the state as district magistrates in some districts, he had a long stint at the Centre.
- Trivedi was made Central Vigilance Commissioner in October 1980 and in June 1982, he took over as the CEC.He was Gujarat Governor between 1986 and 1990.
Award:
Trivedi was honoured with Padma Vibhushan as a recognition to his services towards the nation.
