The Supreme Court of India has accredited Justice Sanjay Mishra, a former judge of the Allahabad High Court, as the Lokayukta of Uttar Pradesh.

• The apex court bench comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Prafulla C Pant recalled the earlier order of appointing Justice Virendra Singh for the post but objections was aroused due to serious complaints against Justice Singh during his tenure as Chairman of Consumer Redressal Forum in November 2012.
