India surpassed Thailand as World’s largest Rice exporter

As per the Bangkok based Thai Rice Exporters Association, India has outpacedThailand as the world’s largest rice exporter in 2015.

• In 2015 India has shipped 23 million tonnes of rice while Thailand exported 9.8 million tonnes of rice in 2015, a downgrade of 10.8%.

Vietnam is the third largest exporter of rice.
China is the number one importer of rice.
