Indian Institute of Millets Research (IIMR) has designated Vilas A. Tonapi as its director.
- At present, Tonapi is serving as the Principal Scientist at Seed Science and Technology of the IIMR.
- He holds a PhD from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and obtained his post-Doctoral from University of Queensland, Australia.
- He has 50 research papers to his credit in peer reviewed journals, 30 authored and edited books.
