Veteran singer Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan had passed away in Kolkata due to old age problems.- He was the oldest Hindustani classical vocalist.
- He was awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2013.
- He had written nearly 2,000 poems.
- He was also awarded with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Kashi Swar Ganga Award.
- Government of NCT Delhi had awarded him with life time achievement award in 2013.
