India’s top pistol shooter Heena Sidhu secured an Olympic quota for the country by clinching gold medal in women’s 10-m air pistol at the Asia Olympic Qualifiers for Shooting.
- Heena shot 199.4 ahead of Chinese Taipei’s Tien Chia Chen (198.1) and Gim Yun Mi (177.9) of Korea at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, Delhi.
About Heena Sidhu:
- Sidhu is the Finals World record holder in 10 metre air pistol event with a final score of 203.8.
- She is a first Indian Pistol shooter to have won a Gold medal in the 2013 ISSF World Cup Finals -Pistol in 10 metre Air Pistol
- She is also the first Indian Pistol shooter to be Ranked World No.1.
- Heena is the first Indian shooter who has appeared on the ISSF magazine’s cover page.
