The Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Shri. Y. S. Chowdarylaid Foundation for the building complex of the International Training Centre for Operational Oceanography (ITCO-Ocean) at Hyderabad.
- It will provide benefits in the form of of Potential Fishing Zones advisories to fishermen, Ocean State Forecasts for mariners, Tsunami & Storm Surge Early warnings, etc.
Ministry of Earth Sciences had signed a Memorandum of Agreement with IOC / UNESCO to cooperate in capacity development programmes. This shows the confidence of international community in India’s achievements, particularly in the field of oceanography.
