UN chief launched Anticipate, Absorb, Reshape Initiative to build climate resilience

Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) launched an initiative to build climate resilience initiative Anticipate, Absorb, Reshape, at the Paris climate conference, called as 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Aim: To strengthen the ability of countries to anticipate hazards, absorb shocks, and reshape development to reduce climate risks that would assist address the needs people who live in at-risk coastal areas just a few meters above existing sea levelsand those living in areas at risk of droughts and floods.

Participants:FAO, UNEP, UNFCCC, UN-Habitat, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNOPS, UNISDR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, and WMO.
